“flying paintings”/ARTISTS’ PHOTO ALBUM

Hinako Miyabayashi is a Japanese painter whose work explores the medium as a receptive passage for dialogue with shape, color, and elemental forces. Born in Hokkaido and now based in Berlin, Miyabayashi’s practice spans oil painting, works on paper, collage, lithography, and sculptural forms—including her distinctive "flying paintings."

She earned an M.F.A. from Tokyo University of the Arts (2025) and was a Meisterschüler at Berlin University of the Arts (UdK Berlin) under Prof. Thilo Heinzmann. Recent solo and group exhibitions took place at prominent venues like Galerie Guido W. Baudach (Berlin), Tokyo Opera City Art Gallery, and CADAN YURAKUCHO (Tokyo), the Okura Museum of Art and more.
