Sursuma is delighted to present Museums’ Series: A Duology of Printed Matter and Design Anthology—collaborations with cultural institutions to reimagine their collections.

For our inaugural Design Anthology edition, we partner with Pirelli HangarBicocca to explore Anselm Kiefer’s The Seven Heavenly Palaces, presented by Giovanna Amadasi, Head of Public and Educational Programs. This monumental installation transcends sculpture to become an architectural act: an active exploration of history, materiality, and collective memory.

AKI INOMATA

We speak with artist Aki Inomata, to discover how her interest interspecies collaborations and emphasis on ecological uncertainty redefine relationship between humans and nature: “Biological systems function similarly—no two moth wings are identical. This experience reaffirmed the importance of accepting that humans do not control everything and of encountering creativity that allows nature to take the lead. My work explores the intersection where the natural unpredictability of biological systems intersects with human craftsmanship.”

In this first edition, fashion designer Latifa Neyazi reveals her mood board from textile dying, to influence of the deep lapis lazuli blue from Afghanistan’s mountains, and fashion illustrations. Through textiles, sketches, and curated fragments, she traces how tradition and terrain shape her visual language.
